Kyrene Summer Programs 2013
Kyrene Community Education offers a wide variety of summer programs to keep kids safe, having fun and learning!
Register Now - for registration and class information. On-line registration is available now. In-person registrations will be taken at the District Office Customer Service Center starting at 7:30 a.m.
Kyrene Kids Club
Early Learning Centers Ages 3 - 5 (not yet in Kindergarten)
Location: Estrella
Dates: May 28 - July 26
Times: 6:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.
An all day summer program that features weekly themes, on-site events and a variety of activities to keep children engaged all day. Children will participate in water days, pancake breakfasts, learn about favorite storytime characters and develop a love of learning. Familes can register by the month with multiple partial day options available.
Incoming 1st - 5th grade
Locations: Cielo, Estrella, Monte Vista
Dates: May 28 - July 26
Times: 6:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.
Features weekly field trips, on-site events and daily enrichment clubs. With new program offerings including theme rooms and new field trip destinations even returning students will be sure to have a fun-filled summer. Families can register by the week, for partial weeks or as a wrap around for Summer Academy.

Kyrene Adventure Tours
A brand new program that will be non-stop fun all summer! Each week, students will take part in daily on-site events and field trips! Mondays will feature an exciting on-site event like Minute to Win It Challenges, Obstacle Courses, Computer Lab projects and more. Tuesdays through Fridays students will be boarding the bus and taking off to check out some of the great locations Arizona has to offer including Tucson's Reid Park Zoo, Sedona's Rainbow Trout Farm, Sunsplash, Canyon Lake, Diamondbacks game, and much more!
Summer Academy
Incoming Kindergartens through 8th graders
Choose from two or four-hour classes
Session 1
Locations: Cielo, Estrella, Akimel A-al
Dates: June 3 - 27 (Monday-Thursday)
Times: 8:00 a.m.
Session 2 Locations: Estrella
Dates: July 1 - 18 (Monday-Thursday)
Times: 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Summer Academy: Two separate sessions (4 weeks in June, 3 weeks in July). Incoming Kindergartners can register for Getting Ready for Kindergarten, to prepare for their new school experience. Elementary students have many new options like Planet Hunters, Scooter Games, Kid Top Chef, and Sea Life Explorer. Middle School students can pick from classes including Lacrosse/Soccer, Screen printing, Crash Test Dummies and Fantasy Baseball Stats. Kids Club and After Hours offer a wrap around program for families looking for extended day programs.
After Hours
Incoming 5th - 8th Grades
Locations: Akimel A-al and Pueblo
Dates: May 28 - July 26
Times: 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
After Hours Summer. Each day will offer fun on-site events like cooking projects, dodgeball and other active games, Xbox/Wii games, On Deck card tournament and many more.
NEW This year! Each week students will go on
two or three field trips to exciting destinations like Sedona's Slide Rock, Diamondbacks game, swimming, Sunsplash and Stratum Laser Tag. Options include partial weeks, half days and a Summer Academy wrap around program.
Summer Community Theatre
This exciting program will blend the love of performing with the knowledge and technical aspects of the stage. Students will work with a voice coach, learn choreography, how to apply stage make up, costume design and much more! If performing isn't your child's interest, we will also have a full working crew behind the stage.

Location: Pueblo
Dates: June 3 - 27
Times: 12:45 p.m. - 4:45 p.m.
(Monday - Thursday)
Auditions will be held on April 20, 2013. Two evening performances are scheduled.
Walking tour of London: The Strand, Trafalgar Square, Leicester Square, Covent Garden--Enjoy a fish and chips dinner.
Guided tour of London: Big Ben and Houses of Parliament, Piccadilly Circus, St. Paul’s Cathedral, Westminster Abbey, Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace (if scheduled)
Guided tour of Paris: Place de la Concorde, Champs-Élysées, Arc de Triomphe,
Les Invalides, Eiffel Tower; Walking tour of Paris: Louvre, Notre Dame Cathedral
Guided tour of Rome: Roman Forum, Colosseum, Sistine Chapel, St. Peter’s Basilica
